What are the similarities between Zr702 and Zr705?
Zr702 and Zr705 share the following similarities with metallic zirconium. Although they differ slightly in corrosion resistance and strength, they still retain the key properties of zirconium metal.
Low Nuclear Absorption Capacity: Zirconium is widely used in nuclear reactors. On the one hand, zirconium has a low neutron absorption rate, ensuring that large numbers of neutrons can move freely and react easily. Zirconium, on the other hand, can easily absorb electrons that escape during fission reactions, thereby increasing efficiency and preventing contamination.
Excellent Corrosion Resistance: Zirconium's high affinity for oxygen results in the formation of a protective oxide layer at room temperature, making the metal and its alloys quite resistant to acids, alkalis and seawater. Therefore, Zr702, Zr705 and other alloys are widely used in the chemical industry.
Excellent heat resistance and strength: Zirconium alloys also stand out for their excellent strength at high temperatures. Therefore they are used to make furnace linings and casting bricks.
