What Is The Function Of Fervanadium?

What is the function of fervanadium?

Ferroalloys composed of vanadium and iron are mainly used as alloy additives in steelmaking, and high-vanadium ferrovanadium is also used as an additive for non-ferrous metal alloys.

Commonly used ferrovanadium contains 40%, 60% and 80% vanadium. The main raw material for the production of ferrovanadium in my country is vanadium-titanium magnetite. After the vanadium-containing pig iron is beneficiated and enriched, it is refined in the blast furnace, and the vanadium slag is extracted in the atomizing furnace or converter blowing process.

After crushing, sodium salt (soda ash, anhydrous Glauber's salt) is added to the vanadium slag for sodium oxide roasting to turn the vanadium into soluble sodium metavanadate (NaVO3). After leaching and purification, ammonium sulfate is added to precipitate ammonium polyvanadate [(NH4)2v6o16], and then deamination and melting form flake Vanadium pentoxide. The required ingredients are v2o597~99%, P<0.05%, s<0.05%, na2o+k2o<1.5%.

In addition, Vanadium pentoxide can also be extracted directly from vanadium-containing iron concentrate or vanadium-containing carbonaceous shale through chemical treatment.
