What Are The Chemical Properties Of Vanadium Pentoxide?

[]

What are the chemical properties of vanadium pentoxide?
Amphoteric oxide, but mainly acidic. It volatilizes significantly above 700℃. It decomposes into oxygen and vanadium tetroxide at 700~1125℃, which makes it a catalyst for many organic and inorganic reactions. It is a strong oxidant and is easily reduced to various low-valent oxides. It is slightly soluble in water and easily forms a stable colloidal solution. It is very soluble in alkali and can generate vanadate (VO3) under weak alkaline conditions. It does not generate vanadate ions when dissolved in strong acid (generally dissolving at pH = 2), but generates oxyvanadium ions (VO2) of the same valence. It is a toxic substance, and the maximum allowable amount in the air is less than 0.5mg/m.
