After using silicon-aluminum alloy, the element yield is high, mainly because the specific gravity of the alloy increases, the specific gravity of aluminum is 2.7g/cm3, the specific gravity of ferrosilicon (FeAl30Si20) is 3.5-4.2g/cm3, and the specific gravity of final steelmaking slag is generally 2.8- 3.2g/cm3, so the alloy will sink below the slag surface after adding, which effectively controls the reaction of aluminum with air and oxygen in the slag.

The deoxidation effect is good, and it is generally considered that complex deoxidation products are generated, and the oxide activity is reduced, which is conducive to the deoxidation reaction. In addition, it is easy to generate a low melting point phase, so that the inclusions are easy to polymerize, and the floating removal is promoted. When mining and deoxidizing aluminum and ferrosilicon (FeAl30Si20) respectively, the total aluminum content in the steel is higher than that of the former, while the acid-soluble aluminum of the latter is higher than that of the former, which shows that when ferrosilicon is used, the inclusion of aluminum oxides is greatly reduce.
