In the modern industrial system, metal silicon powder, as a key basic material, is closely linked to technological innovation in its industry development. From the continuous innovation of preparation processes to the ongoing expansion of application areas, metal silicon powder is playing an increasingly important role on the industrial stage with its unique appeal.

The preparation of metal silicon powder is a complex and critical process. Common preparation methods include the Raymond method, double-roll method, disc grinding method, and impact grinding method. These methods differ in principle: the Raymond method, double-roll method, and disc grinding method involve compression grinding, while the impact grinding method uses impact grinding.

The metal silicon powder produced by these methods varies in technical parameters such as microstructure, specific surface area, particle size distribution, and surface oxidation, which in turn affects its reactivity. Taking the vertical mill process for producing silicon powder as an example, silicon blocks must first undergo drying and crushing before being fed into the vertical mill for grinding. The ground silicon powder is carried out by a circulating airflow and collected by a collector. The collected powder is screened by a vibrating screen, with coarse particles returned to the mill and fine particles entering the finished product silo.

The ground silicon powder is carried out by a circulating airflow and collected by a collector. The collected powder is screened by a vibrating screen, with coarse particles returned to the mill and fine particles entering the finished product silo.

Precise control of each step in this process is critical to product quality. In the silicon powder production process using a Raymond mill, silicon blocks also undergo drying and crushing before entering the Raymond mill. The ground silicon powder is carried out by a circulating airflow, collected by a cyclone dust collector, and the collected powder is screened by a vibrating screen. The material on the screen is returned to the Raymond mill, while the material below the screen enters the finished product silo.

However, this process has some shortcomings, such as the dust-laden gas discharged from the cyclone dust collector not fully meeting standards, requiring two-stage dust removal and one-stage washing before high-altitude emission, and the process being complex and inefficient. In contrast, the metal silicon powder production process using an impact-cyclone crusher has certain advantages. Silicon blocks are dried and crushed before entering the impact-type grinding machine for grinding.

The ground material is carried out by the airflow of the induced draft fan, separated by the cyclone separator, with fine powder collected by the collector and entering the fine powder silo, while the exhaust gas is discharged at a high altitude; coarse powder is fed into the vibrating screen for screening, with the coarse particles on the screen returned to the impact-type grinding machine, and the product (medium powder) on the screen entering the finished product silo. Currently, horizontal and vertical impact-rotor processes are widely applied in the production of metal silicon powder.
