Ferrovanadium Price Update | FeV50 & FeV80 China Market Prices on May 14, 2026

Ferrovanadium FeV50 Price in China Declines Slightly Amid Stable Steel Demand

Ferrovanadium FeV50 prices in the Chinese market showed a mild downward adjustment on May 14, 2026. Mainstream transaction prices were reported at approximately CNY 91,000–93,000 per tonne, while mainstream quotations reached CNY 94,000–96,000 per tonne under tax-included bank acceptance terms.

As an important alloy additive in HSLA steel, rebar production, pipeline steel, and structural alloy steel manufacturing, FeV50 ferrovanadium continues to play a key role in improving tensile strength, wear resistance, and grain refinement performance in steelmaking applications.

Ferrovanadium FeV80 Price Update | High-Purity Vanadium Alloy Market

China Ferrovanadium FeV80 mainstream transaction prices fell to approximately CNY 145,600–148,800 per tonne on May 14, 2026. Mainstream supplier quotations were around CNY 150,400–153,600 per tonne.

FeV80 is widely used in high-strength low-alloy steel (HSLA), aerospace alloy production, tool steel, spring steel, and special steel manufacturing due to its higher vanadium content and superior alloying efficiency.

What Is Ferrovanadium Used For?

Ferrovanadium is a critical ferroalloy used in modern steelmaking and alloy manufacturing. By adding vanadium into molten steel, manufacturers can significantly improve steel hardness, fatigue resistance, corrosion resistance, and impact toughness.

FeV50 is commonly selected for cost-effective alloy adjustment in construction steel and general engineering steel production. In contrast, FeV80 provides higher vanadium recovery efficiency and is preferred by premium steel mills producing automotive steel, railway steel, offshore engineering steel, and aerospace alloys.

Advantages of Ferrovanadium in Steel Production

Improved Steel Strength

Vanadium helps refine grain structure and enhances yield strength without significantly increasing steel weight. This makes ferrovanadium ideal for lightweight high-strength steel applications.

Better Wear and Fatigue Resistance

Adding ferrovanadium improves abrasion resistance and fatigue life, especially in mining equipment, heavy machinery, automotive components, and drilling tools.

Enhanced Heat Resistance

Ferrovanadium alloys maintain mechanical performance at elevated temperatures, making them suitable for heat-resistant steel and special alloy production.

Lower Alloy Consumption

Higher-purity FeV80 offers improved alloy recovery rates, helping steel mills reduce overall alloy consumption and optimize production costs.
