The situation of China's vanadium resource market and its impact on prices
China's vanadium resource reserves are the largest in the world, mainly in the form of vanadium-titanium magnetite and stone coal, accounting for 53% and 47% respectively
According to statistics from the United States Geological Survey, as of the end of 2021, my country's vanadium resource reserves were 9.5 million tons, widely distributed in 19 provinces. There are two main forms of vanadium ore resources, namely vanadium-titanium magnetite and vanadium-bearing stone coal. Among them, vanadium resources in vanadium-titanium magnetite account for 53% of the total reserves, mainly distributed in Panxi area of Sichuan and Chengde area of Hebei. The proven reserves of vanadium-titanium magnetite in Panzhihua-Xichang area are more than 10 billion tons, and the proven reserves of vanadium-titanium magnetite in Chengde area of Hebei are more than 8 billion tons; vanadium resources in vanadium-bearing stone coal account for 47% of the total reserves, mainly distributed in Shaanxi Province, Hunan Province, Hubei Province, Anhui Province, Zhejiang Province, Jiangxi Province, Guizhou Province and other places, with a total reserve of 61.88 billion tons, of which 3.9 billion tons have been proven industrial reserves.
