Why are graphite electrodes used to prepare special-shaped graphite products?

The blanks of graphite electrodes are also used to process various special-shaped graphite products such as crucibles, molds, boats and heating elements. For example, in the quartz glass industry, 10 tons of graphite electrode blanks are required for every ton of electric melting tube produced; 100 kg of graphite electrode blanks are required for every ton of quartz brick produced.

Graphite electrodes are important conductive materials in the electric smelting industry. They have good electrical and thermal conductivity, high mechanical strength, and good resistance to oxidation and corrosion at high temperatures. They are widely used in arc steelmaking furnaces, ore-fired electric furnaces (producing ferroalloys, pure silicon, yellow phosphorus, matte, calcium carbide, etc.), and resistance furnaces (such as graphitization furnaces for producing graphite electrodes, melting furnaces for melting glass, and electric furnaces for producing silicon carbide, etc.), and have become an important part of the contemporary raw materials industry.

In the graphite electrode industry chain, the upstream is raw materials, including needle coke, coal tar, and petroleum coke; the midstream is graphite electrodes, which can be divided into ultra-high power graphite electrodes, high power graphite electrodes, ordinary power graphite electrodes, and anti-oxidation coated graphite electrodes; the downstream is used in steel, yellow phosphorus, industrial silicon, electric vehicles, photovoltaic cells and other fields.
