The Main Use Of Tungsten Wire - Hair Dryer

Used as a heating wire in a hair dryer to generate heat and send out hot air. The hair dryer is composed of a set of tungsten wires as heating wires and a small fan. After power is turned on, the heating wire will generate heat, and the wind blown by the fan will pass through the heating wire and become hot air. If only the small fan is running and the heating wire is not hot, then it is just blowing out air instead of heating.

The blower uses an electric motor to directly drive the rotor and drive the blades to rotate. When the fan blades rotate, air is sucked in from the air inlet, and the resulting centrifugal airflow is blown out from the front nozzle of the fan.

When the air passes through, if the tungsten wire on the heating bracket installed in the air outlet is energized and heated, hot air will blow out; if the switch does not energize the electric heating wire, cold air will blow out. This is how a hair dryer achieves drying and styling purposes.

The heating element of the blower is made of tungsten wire and is installed at the air outlet of the blower. The air exhausted by the motor is heated by the electric heating wire at the air outlet and then sent out in the form of hot air.

Tungsten wire is used as electric heating wire mainly because only tungsten has a melting point exceeding 3400 degrees Celsius, which is the highest melting point of metals. It is also resistant to high temperatures, corrosion resistance, low thermal expansion coefficient and good performance. Excellent features such as good winding performance and no sagging.

Theoretically, the reason why the hair dryer cannot blow out hot air may be that the tungsten wire in the hair dryer becomes thinner after being used for a period of time, the resistance becomes smaller, and the heating ability becomes weaker.
