Molybdenum Wire Cutting Performance

Electrical performance: Modern cutting power supplies have strict requirements on the resistance or conductivity of the wire. They should be able to withstand large cutting currents with a peak value of more than 700A and an average value of more than 45A, and the energy transmission should be very efficient and able to provide the required high-frequency pulse current. Molybdenum wire has good electrical conductivity and can meet this requirement.

Mechanical properties: Molybdenum wire has good properties such as good tensile strength, low elongation, large curl rate, and consistent wire diameter, and can well meet the mechanical performance requirements of EDM electrode wires.

Geometric characteristics: The geometric performance requirements of EDM electrode wire are extremely low.

The molybdenum wire has good geometric characteristics such as smooth surface and wire diameter tolerance +/-0.001mm, which can be drawn through a wire drawing die.

Thermal properties: Good thermal physical properties are the key to improving cutting efficiency. Molybdenum wire has good properties such as high melting point, high temperature resistance, and corrosion resistance, so it is widely used in EDM.
