What is ferric tungsten?
Ferrotungsten is an iron alloy mainly composed of tungsten and iron, and also contains impurities such as manganese, silicon, carbon, phosphorus, sulfur, copper, tin, etc. It is an alloying agent for steelmaking.
Ferrotungsten is delivered in blocks, with a block size range of 10 to 130 mm. The amount of fragments smaller than 10×10 mm should not exceed 5% of the total weight of the batch. The maximum size of individual blocks in one direction is 150 mm.
The surface of tungsten iron blocks should be smooth, and there should be no significant non-metallic inclusions and rust spots on the cross section and surface.
