The chemical formula of calcium carbide is CaC2

The chemical formula of calcium carbide is CaC2
Calcium carbide (English: Calcium carbide), also known as calcium acetylene, has a chemical formula of CaC2 and is the main component of calcium carbide (also known as calcium clay). Calcium carbide is a green or gray-black powder or block solid with a garlic smell. In industry, calcium carbide is often mixed with water to produce acetylene gas; it is also used in the smelting industry as a reducing agent and desulfurizer. Calcium carbide is flammable when it comes into contact with water. If excess water is added to it, calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH)2) and acetylene (C2H2) will be generated.
