Ferromanganese content and use
Leave a message
Ferromanganese in steelmaking, used as a deoxidizer and alloy additive, is the largest amount of iron alloy.
Generally, the manganese ore used for smelting ferromanganese requires that ferromanganese contains 30~ 40% manganese, ferromanganese ratio is greater than 7, and phosphorus/manganese ratio is less than 0.003. Before smelting, manganese carbonate ore should be roasted and powder ore should be sintered into blocks. The ore with high iron and phosphorus content can only be used together, or the manganese rich slag with low iron and low phosphorus can be refined by selective reduction. Smelting with coke as reducing agent, some plants with lean coal or anthracite. The auxiliary raw material is mainly lime, and silica is generally added when smelting manganese silicon alloy.
