Application of silicon carbide briquette

With the development of iron and steel industry, the steel industry has put forward higher and higher requirements for steelmaking productivity and steel cost. At present, due to the smelting process of most steel plants, the temperature of molten steel in converter is relatively low and the content of sulfur and phosphorus is relatively high. Due to the lack of heat in the steelmaking process, it is often necessary to blow oxygen for many times. Reaching sufficient tapping temperature will lead to high oxygen activity of the terminal steel liquid and high total iron content in the slag, which will adversely affect the steel grade and converter life, and is not conducive to steelmaking economy. At present, the common method of converter steelmaking heat compensation technology in China is to use heating materials such as coke and anthracite successively. However, due to major defects, they have been phased out in succession. The carbon content of steel also plays a certain role in alleviating the heat source shortage of semi steel steelmaking, but it is not targeted and the cost is high. At present, in order to optimize steelmaking logistics and reduce production costs, it is urgent to replace the existing coke and anthracite with a new type of heating material (SiC briquette) with fast melting, good heating effect and easy operation. Equal heat compensation materials are used to better solve the converter heat compensation technology and meet the technical requirements of short steelmaking process.
