Description
Ferrosilicon is an iron-silicon alloy made of coke, steel shavings, quartz (or silica) as raw materials and smelted in an electric furnace. Since silicon and oxygen can easily synthesize silicon dioxide, ferrosilicon is often used as a deoxidizer during steelmaking.
