Products Description

In my country, about 90% of vanadium is used in the steel industry. The application of vanadium in steel is mainly to improve the strength and toughness by adding vanadium. Adding 0.1% vanadium to structural steel can increase the strength by 10% to 20%, reduce the structural weight by 15% to 25%, and reduce the cost by 8% to 10%.

High-strength vanadium-containing steel can reduce the weight of metal structures by 40%-50%, and the cost is 15%-30% lower than ordinary structural steel. Taking steel bars as an example, my country is still using a large number of high-grade steel bars, and the proportion of sub-grade high-strength steel bars is only about 10%.

The international general steel bar is the sub-grade steel of 460Mpa, and the steel bar of 500Mpa is already in use in Europe. Due to its high strength, good toughness, wear resistance and corrosion resistance, vanadium steel is widely used in the construction of oil (gas) pipelines, buildings, bridges, rails and pressure vessels.

Vanadium and Ti-6A1-4 V, an important metal alloy, are used in aircraft engines, aerospace cabin skeletons, missiles, hydrofoils and introducers of warships, steam turbine blades, rocket engine shells, etc. In addition, vanadium alloys are also used in magnetic materials, hard alloys, superconducting materials (such as V3Ga) and nuclear reactor materials.

Vanadium in the battery is in the form of vanadium oxide as the positive electrode. For example, V205 and V6013 are used as the positive electrode of the battery. The advantage of the vanadium battery is that it can be used safely at room temperature, the electrolyte and the battery have a long service life, and the manufacturing cost is low. The consumption of V205 for batteries in Japan is about 5000t/a, accounting for about 10% of the world's total consumption of V205.

The vanadium products used in the chemical industry mainly include deep-processed products V205 (98% -99.99%), NH4VO3 (metavanadic acid), NaVO3 and KVO3, etc. They are respectively used as catalysts, ceramic colorants, developers, dry blasting agents and production Raw material of high-purity vanadium oxide or ferrovanadium. The United States has developed a new type of vanadium catalyst, which is used in the production of sulfuric acid, petroleum refining and petrochemicals

In addition to the above application fields, vanadium is also widely used in glass, ceramics, medicine, etc.
