The chemical affinity between titanium and carbon is greater than that between chromium and carbon, and the addition of titanium iron to fix carbon in stainless steel can eliminate the dilution phenomenon of chromium in stainless steel grain boundaries and improve the corrosion resistance of stainless steel. In recent years, titanium has been used as a microalloyed element to produce high strength low alloy steels. The addition of titanium in cast iron contributes to the generation of fine quartz ink, and also plays the role of degassing, breeding, purification and refining the structure of the casting, and improves the wear resistance of the casting.
