Fused Mullite Used Sintered Mullite

Fused Mullite is a synthetic mineral that is made by melting high-purity alumina and silica. Sintered Mullite, on the other hand, is made by firing a mixture of alumina and silica at high temperatures.

Description

Description

Fused mullite is mainly made of industrial alumina powder and high-quality quartz sand, and smelted by a large-scale high-temperature arc furnace. Fused mullite is the only binary compound in the aluminum-silicon binary system that is stable at atmospheric pressure and is a high-quality refractory material. The color is gray white, needle-like crystals, and high bending strength. It has the characteristics of uniform expansion, good thermal shock resistance, high load softening point, low temperature, high rigidity value, high hardness, and good resistance to chemical corrosion. With its excellent thermal shock resistance and wear resistance, it is widely used in glass kiln lining bricks, alkali-free glass sedimentation mullite bricks, large-scale smelting blast furnace hot blast stove bricks, blast furnace low creeping sillimanite bricks, ceramics Kilns, squats, slats, petrochemicals and other industries. It is the raw material for high-grade refractory materials.

Feature

1. High thermal stability: Heat resistant fumed silica can withstand temperatures up to 1,100°C without degrading or losing its properties.

2. Increased strength: Adding fumed silica to materials such as polymers, adhesives, and coatings can increase their strength and durability, particularly their heat resistance.

3. Low thermal conductivity: Fumed silica has low thermal conductivity, which makes it an ideal material for insulation applications.

4. Improved rheological properties: Fumed silica can significantly enhance the viscosity, thixotropy, and shear-thinning behavior of liquid systems, making them more stable and easier to handle.

5. Easy to disperse: Fumed silica has a high surface area, making it easy to disperse in a variety of liquids and polymers.
