FeSi 72 is an alloy of iron and silicon with a silicon content of at least 72%. It is primarily used in steelmaking as an additive to improve the quality, strength, and durability of the steel. FeSi 72 acts as a deoxidizer, preventing the formation of unwanted oxides in the steel.
FeSi 72 is also used as a raw material in the production of other ferroalloys, such as ferrochrome and ferromanganese. It is also used as an alloying agent in the production of cast iron.
The physical properties of FeSi 72 include a high density and a high melting point, which make it a stable material under normal conditions. The hardness of FeSi 72 is in the range of 6-7 on the Mohs scale, making it a relatively hard material.
