Core-clad wire is a composite material made by adding various additives or molten steel (deoxidizer, desulfurizer, modifier, alloy, etc.) to the molten iron, breaking it into a certain size, and then winding it into a cold-rolled low-carbon steel strip of any length.
Purpose: It is the main material for manufacturing pure calcium cored wire. It is widely used in the steel industry and plays the role of deoxidation, desulfurization, and inclusion modification. Pure metallic calcium wires encapsulated in a steel sheath (called cored wires) are injected into the molten steel with the aid of a spinneret system, with the aim of recovering Ca in the steel at a higher rate than the original Ca/CaSi blocks added directly to the ladle. It has great advantages in terms of cost, consistency and automation.
In addition to low production costs, the product has a long storage time.
The core material is a fully smelted alloy with few inclusions, dense texture and uniform composition.
