Brown Fused Alumina Particles Industrial Grade

Brown Fused Alumina (BFA) is an abrasive material with a hardness of 9 on the Mohs scale. It is produced by fusing calcined bauxite in an electric arc furnace at high temperatures. BFA is widely used in the abrasive and refractory industries due to its high toughness, excellent abrasion resistance, and low magnetic susceptibility.

Industrial grade BFA particles typically range in size from 8 to 220 mesh, with larger particles being used for heavy-duty applications such as grinding and polishing, and smaller particles being used for precision finishing and lapping.

In the abrasive industry, BFA particles are used for grinding, cutting, and surface preparation of metals, wood, and other materials. In the refractory industry, BFA is used as a raw material for the production of refractory bricks, castables, and other refractory products.

BFA is also used in sandblasting and shot peening applications, where the particles are propelled at high speeds to clean or strengthen surfaces. Additionally, BFA is used in the production of ceramic and resin-bonded abrasives, as well as in the manufacturing of grinding wheels and cutting discs.
